Bio
From the time Mark was very young he participated in a number of sports including dance, athletics and gymnastics before he came across the sport of “Trampoline and Tumbling” at the age of 9. Winning a State title in his first year of competition and representing his country (Australia) after only 2
years at the age of 11 Mark knew this was where his heart was. Excelling in the Power Tumbling discipline Mark became the first ever Australian tumbler to compete a triple back somersault. At the age of 21 after a successful competition career including winning numerous State and National Titles, representing his country in 4 world championships and numerous other international competitions his focus turned towards the Stage. In 2003 he accepted a 12 month contract to perform a group Trampoline and Tumbling act and play a lead role at Conrad Jupiter’s Casino on the Gold Coast, Australia in the stage show "STORM". This fueled his passion even more to explore the world of performance which brought him to study at NICA (National Institute of Circus Arts) in Melbourne, Australia. Specialising in Tumbling and Hoop Diving where he completed a "Bachelor of Circus Arts" in 2006. His time with NICA included performing as a part of the 2005 (Melbourne) Commonwealth games Opening ceremony and the 2006 (Doha) Asian Games Closing Ceremony. Mark then performed Trampoline and Russian Bar with the horse and circus show "Cavalia" throughout Europe before receiving an Offer From “Cirque du Soleil” to perform in New York city at Madison Square Gardens in there winter show "WINTUK" (2008-10). A dream come true Mark worked to create a world first and very unique Russian bar act with a team of 9 other Russian acrobats, also performing the group Power Track Tumbling number. Three years in the company brought Mark to perform throughout Canada and the USA in numerous different projects. Next Stop in 2011-12 was to perform at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore in the International stage show “Voyage de la Vie”. Mark performed in the Fast Track Tumbling group number as well the Bungee trapeze act with 4 other acrobats.
Since then Mark has turned his sights to sharing his skills and knowledge in the circus arts coaching at various Circus Schools including Flipside Circus, CIRCA and Byron Bay Circus Arts. A 4 1/2 month contract with Club Med Resort Malaysia as a Circus and Flying Trapeze instructor and performer added to his love and exploration of the world of circus. During this time a change of focus and direction occurred with Mark deciding to pursue a solo career. A love for Dance Pole and Aerial Ring(Lyra) has blossomed into 2 Professional solo Acts.
