Starting her circus career with most aerial apparatus, including both single and triple trapeze, corde lisse and spinning web, Chiara Boardman has emerged as a specialised artist in tissue, aerial hoop, straps (both solo and duo) and aerial net.
Truly at home when suspended from great heights on the
tissu, Chiara has been performing all her life in areas of dance, music, rhythmic gymnastics and aerial circus.
In 2004, after competing for 10 years in rhythmic gymnastics, both representing Western Australia and Australia, Chiara decided to use this experience to begin a life of circus and joined Skadada, one of Perth’s leading aerial companies.
In 2006 Chiara moved to Melbourne to further her circus training and career at the National Institute of Circus Arts, in Prahran. Chiara performed music in DiVino as part of the Melbourne International Arts Festival in 2007 and tissu in the opening of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival gala in 2008. Throughout 2009-2010 Chiara has performed at many prestigious functions and events throughout Australia, Chiara relocated to the UK in 2010 to pursue her circus career, performing in Take That – Progress, UK and Europe Tour mid 2011 and in 2012 her career bought her back to the Southern Hemisphere performing aerial hoop, aerial net, tissu and bungees on the P&O Pacific Pearl Cruise Ship in the South Pacific, which she then returned to for a second contract on board in 2013 after a 6 month contract performing state of the art shows in Sydney’s prestigious bar, the Ivy at its international night presented by PACHA.
