Alyssa is a recent graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Music (with a Musical Theatre Concentration) and graduated cum laude. Alyssa has grown up singing, and became involved in productions at the age of 12. Since then she has performed in over 15 st
ates. She had the honor of singing at the prestigious St. Patricks Cathredral in Dublin, Ireland, and also performed in their annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in the Spring of 2013.
Alyssa is passionate about the performing arts and hopes to be involved with theater for the rest of her life.
Recent roles include "Janet" in The Drowsy Chaperone, "The Narrator" in Joseph...Dreamcoat, "Roxie Hart" in Chicago, "Jerusha Abbott U/S" in Daddy Long Legs, and "Demeter" in CATS, just to name a few. She recently played the "Devil" in Billy Edd Wheeler's Cat on the Roof, which made its debut at Mountainside Theatre this past summer, and got to work directly with the man who wrote the famous "Jackson" for Johnny Cash.
She has received several scholarships and awards for her performances and work ethic, including the "Emy-Lou Biedenharn Memorial Scholarship Award," and the "Helen Spyker Memorial Scholarship Award." She also received an award for "Outstanding Accomplishment in Theatre" from the ULM Arts and Sciences Dept, and was named a student in "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities" at ULM.
Alyssa has had the privilege of working with numerous professional choreographers and directors from New York, including Kelli Barclay, Greg Baccarini, Joe Istre, and Robin Stephens. She had the honor of singing and premiering the up-and-coming New York songwriting duo Maglione and Ruiz's newest song entitled "Away" at her solo cabaret concert this summer. Alyssa has attended the Twin City Ballet Intensive Summer Dance Workshop, and was a member of the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Repertory Dance Ensemble at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Alyssa has been performing the regional theatre circuit since graduation and has been seen at Mountainside Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre, and Ozark Actors Theatre. She is a proud member of the Equity Membership Candidate Program.
